Drop 3 from Running is Dead

With Drop 3 we have done a very extensive and thorough upgrade of our product range. Ever since our first collection our products have been tested in the harshest conditions (the members of Ockelbomaffian wore them on the gruesome 90K Ultravasan back in 2019 crossing the finish line in 2nd, 4th and 5th place). We collected all of their feedback and went back to the drawing board to re-design the entire collection. We started with our original silhouette, added entirely new materials; lighter, stretchier and more breathable and we gave every detail more focus and love.

Constant Change

As the Greek philosopher Heraclitus put it “The Only Constant in Life Is Change”. As we grow, change is constant. We can’t ignore it. As much as we want to, we don’t look the same as we did in our 20’s as when we’re in our 40’s. Looking in the mirror, it’s not the same reflection even as 10 years ago. All of that change, and progress was put to work in Drop 3.
While in our youth we were heavily inspired by subcultures, music and what is sometimes casually referred to as “action sports”, a couple of decades our everyday lives are mostly inspired by a minimalist approach. An empty wall decorated with art and designer furniture being part of our living space. An explosive youth is now simplified through minimalism.

Laser-Cut Mesh

With Drop 3 we’re bringing back the silhouette of our most popular Running Split shorts from Drop 1 and adding a new model to the collection, combined with our new Running T-shirts (short and long sleeve) and Running Tanks which all feature a laser-cut mesh where the holes are set in a 5 millimeter pattern for super-efficient ventilation. Our new Running Shorts (split shorts and training shorts) also have a new ventilated waistband. And in all of our clothes the seams are smoother and the overall fit is better than ever.

Blue Minimalism

The color blue is everlastingly appointed by the deity to be a source of delight. It’s also the color of the sky, our ocean on a blue bird day and from now our new signature color throughout the entire brand. Visually we’ve also cleaned up our act leaving the punk rock of our youth behind and taking a more minimalistic approach to things. Leaving our Heritage logo on hold and bringing forward the sharp perfectly aligned typeface made by our swiss friend and digital creative Killian A.

Beyond Running

While exploring the symbiosis which lies in collaborations all around the world we also believe that it’s important to stick to our roots. This has meant following our friend Hassan Abdiqadir getting on the podium at last year’s Swedish Junior National Championships, making new friends on the west coast with last year’s winner of Lidingöloppet Linus Hultegård and watching our friends and ultra runners from Ockelbomaffian running 24 hour races and making 100 miles look like a walk in the park. However, we’re bringing Drop 3 to you with more than just results and wins. Behind every athlete, hard work and a far bigger drive than just getting the results has been a common denominator. It’s more. It’s; Beyond Running. Full story coming later this summer in our Journal. Following all of their journeys, beyond running.

Keep an Eye Open

With all of this said, we hope that you’ll enjoy running in our apparel just as much as we have while testing it throughout this past year (rain or shine!) in Stockholm. We’re also planning an autumn launch of some warmer clothes for the upcoming winter. They’ve already been tried and tested in the Swedish mountains of Åre, Jämtland last winter. So keep an eye open.

Our Drop 3 collection is available in-store exclusively at NKSK (NK Sport) in Stockholm, via select retailers in Europe and online at www.runningisdead.com

So here it is: Drop 3. Run it!
