Running Scarf L1 D2
Scarves have basically been used since the dawn of day. Emperors wore them in ancient Rome. While the origins of the bandana type of scarf are thought to be Asian (the Sanskrit word “bandhana” means bond) it is in American culture that this simple square piece of cloth, which has been used for protection from dust or sun since forever, has been popularized. Cowboys, bikers, members of the early gay scene in New York as well as gang members in the streets of Los Angeles have all worn them. We were mostly inspired by the latter, and especially by the gang depicted in the 1993 classic “Blood in, Blood Out” which we watched over and over again growing up. So, here’s our tribute. Run it!
