A few years ago, when still being an avid gym goer, I’d frequently run into this guy at the gym. The first thing I noticed about him was that we seemed to have a similar interest (and taste) in sneakers as unlike most people at the gym where we both trained he always sported something new and interesting.
Fast forward to the present and our creative director introduced me to a dealer in vintage furniture he’d come across in his quest for interior decoration for his new home and it’s the sneaker head from the gym.
So who is he? Fredrik Karlsson grew up in Stockholm and spent most of his youth playing an insane amount of golf. His love for this gentlemanly sport as well as a fair bit of curiosity took him to college in Phoenix, Arizona before he swung back to Stockholm for a career in sales. Having developed an interest not only for vintage Air Jordans but also for vintage furniture which developed into a collection and morphed into a side-hustle he eventually started his own company where he caters to collectors and interior decorators all over the world helping them find unique pieces of vintage furniture.

In addition to his love for Air Jordans from the 1980’s and French lamps from the 1950’s, Fredrik has found his way to running in the last couple of years. Having a girlfriend who is a solid sub3 marathoner probably has something to do with it as well. Like for many others, running started off as just another form of training but eventually grew on him and just like he approached golf as a kid he’s now taking on running with increasing zealousy. There might even be a marathon in the works. We’d certainly enjoy running one with him this year. If we manage to keep up!
